A source of inspiration for designers

The collections at the St Gallen Textile Museum and Library date back to the second half of the 19th century and follow in the tradition of the museums of applied arts and design and sample collections that were founded throughout Europe at that time. Their purpose was to inspire industry and serve as models for production as while also cultivating ‘good taste’.
